ep.12 The Mask of Happiness
Blog Post, Podcast Episode 12:
‘The Mask of Happiness’
Well-Come back #TRYBE to another mind and soul expansion with the Spiritual Fitness Community
In this episode we are sharing our thoughts and feelings about the “Mask of Happiness.” This ‘mask’ we wear, this ‘mask’ we forget we are standing behind, this ‘mask’ we have had on so long we forgot is even still there! This ‘mask’ that is protecting our Authentic Selves on the inside from being shared to the outside world in fear of judgement, in worry of comparison but mostly in suppression of our greatest selves.
Our vanity of happiness we wear for the world comes from the ‘Show’ of social media. We should be sharing our realness and our struggles more often—those are the pages worth consuming. Are you creating or consuming when you are on social media? Is the time spent on social media adding value to your life?
The concept of are you listening when you ask another person How are you? Are you listening to the answer? Don’t be the drive-byer! Pause, look somebody in the eye and engage active listening such as: This is what I hear you say. This is a 5-10 second exchange that could make such a huge difference in the people around you.
Our freedom and growth happens during suffering. Think of a seed and how it grows under pressure. Through its suffering, it grows into the light. Allow yourself the space to feel your emotions, take off the mask and let in more light within your day.
Crying as a man is often seen as non-masculine. Realize that is a mask as well—believing in that statement. Allowing the emotions and letting emotions out through tears, makes more room for new energy such as abundance, strength and hope.
What do you like to be creative about? Start to be creative when you are feeling negative emotions, by moving it and it can allow the healing to come in.
